Toyota Auris
Toyota has doubled the diesel choice in its Auris TR range with the introduction of its lightweight, economic 1.4 D-4D 90 engine to the line-up. Lightweight, smooth and highly efficient, the unit delivers strong fuel economy and low emissions.
It takes the engine choice in the best-selling TR grade to four, joining the 1.4 VVT-i and 1.6 VVT-i petrol units and the 2.0 D-4D 130 diesel.
Available now, the 1.4 D-4D 90 produces a maximum 89bhp (90 DIN hp) at 3,800rpm and has a flat torque curve, with 190Nm available from 1,800 to 3,000rpm, making it ideally suited to life in stop-start urban traffic. Both five-speed manual and MultiMode transmission are available, the latter offering the choice of fully automatic or manual sequential gear changes.
Official combined cycle fuel consumption is 56.5mpg and CO2 emissions are 132g/km – Band C for Vehicle Excise Duty. Top speed is 109mph and the nought to 62mph acceleration benchmark is reached in 12.0 seconds (14.7 seconds with MultiMode transmission).
Auris TR models come with a high equipment specification that includes 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, front fog lamps, automatic air conditioning, blue Tatami interior trim, chrome detailing on the rear bodywork, front fog lamps and heated electrically adjustable door mirrors.
