New Ignis 5-Door Hatchback

New 1.3 and 1.5 VVT engines; choice of 2 or 4 wheel drive; class leading levels of comfort, security, safety, interior space and performance

An all new 5-door Suzuki Ignis range was announced at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. The 1.3 litre 5-speed manual transmission model will be on sale at Suzuki's 150 dealers in the United Kingdom from Monday, September 15.

Another unique Supermini concept from Suzuki, the new Ignis combines the comfort of a passenger car with the practicality of an SUV to create a stylish, spacious and particularly distinctive proposition in this important sector of the new car market.

A 1.5 litre 5-speed manual, with Suzuki's 4GRIP full time four wheel drive system, will follow in October and a 1.5 litre with a four speed electronically controlled automatic gearbox will be launched in December.

Strong, purposeful good looks

Large, vertical headlamp clusters, flared wheel arches, contoured colour co-ordinated wrap around bumpers, roof rails and rectangular rear light clusters 'faired in' on either side of the tailgate endow the new Ignis with strong, purposeful good looks that set it apart from competitors.

Practicality and comfort

On the inside the new Ignis is equally innovative. The stylish instrument panel includes two large round instrument gauges, faced in white and back lit, and designed to be easier to read in all lighting conditions.

Sophisticated audio

An advanced Blaupunkt radio/CD player with six speakers is standard throughout the range. Its large easy to use controls are fully integrated centrally into the dashboard within easy reach of both the driver and front seat passenger.

Information Display

An information display - located above the radio - shows the radio frequency and station or CD track, the time, current fuel consumption and outside temperature.
