To provide all drivers and passengers with protection and peace of mind the new Alto has numerous active and passive safety features.The body structure is based on an impact-absorption concept that Suzuki developed using the latest computer-modelling techniques to minimise the transmission vibration to the occupants.
Consisting of front and rear crushable zones and a rigid central cage, this structure enables the new Alto to meet Suzuki's internal standards for occupant protection in an offset frontal collision at 40mph [64km/h].
In addition, three-point ELR seat belts with pretensioners are supplemented by standard dual front airbags to protect the driver and front passenger and side impact protection beams.
Dependable braking performance is assured by front ventilated disc brakes and rear leading/trailing drum brakes and there are child proof rear door locks an immobiliser, and a high level rear brake lamp.
Styling
The new Alto has comprehensively updated styling that creates a unique character and conveys a sense of stylish quality.
At the front the curved bumper and a boldly styled front grille are flanked by flush-fitted headlamps. There are large and distinctive combination lamp clusters at the rear, attractive wheel covers, and side protection mouldings which enhance the contour lines on the doors.
Inside the smartly patterned fabric used for the seat upholstery and door trim and a smoothly contoured instrument panel with easy to read instruments and sensibly positioned controls enhance the cabin's visual appeal.
Model Range and Prices
