Ignis 5-Door

Roomy and comfortable interior

Thanks to its tall cabin and long 7 ft 9 ins [2,360mm] wheelbase the new Ignis is a packaging masterpiece and although it is no longer than the average supermini it is at least a class bigger in terms of interior space and flexibility. By creating a car that is higher off the ground than most of its rivals Suzuki designers have been able to equip the Ignis with front seats that are at an ideal height - 24 ins [610mm] from the ground to the cushion - for easy entry and exit via the wide opening doors.

This raised seat height also provides a commanding view of the road ahead allowing potential hazards to be recognised and reacted to sooner than might be the case in a conventional small car.

Head and legroom levels are class leading while the generous interior width and an absence of protruding wheel housings helps to maximise space and provides very adequate hip and shoulder room for the driver and all passengers.

The front seats are also wide and tall and are shaped to provide excellent support and hold no matter what driving style is adopted whilst both seats also incorporate a sophisticated springing system that distributes pressure applied by the occupantís back and legs.

All seats, both in the front and the rear, can be recline-adjusted whilst the driver's seat on GL models also boasts a lumbar support and tilt adjuster.

Comprehensive and easy to use

The Ignis features a dashboard layout that is attractive yet easy to use. All controls are positioned within easy reach while the main instruments and dials are faced in blue and easy to read regardless of the position of the seat.

A raised centre panel houses the ventilation controls along with the removable facia of the radio/cassette and the large hazard warning light switch.

All models are also provided with a rev-counter whilst an informative digital display - located centrally and just below the windscreen - provides information on journey times and average speed as well as the date and time.
