The Suzuki Vitara was tested by Euro NCAP in 2015 and it scored the maximum five stars. Scoring 89% for adult occupancy, 85% for child occupancy, 76% for pedestrian protection and 75% for safety assist.

Standard safety equipment includes: ABS with EBD and Brake Assist function, ESP® (Electronic Stability Program), hill hold control, driver & front passenger airbags, front passenger airbag deactivation system, side airbags (incorporated into front seats), curtain airbags, driver's knee airbag, front 3-point ELR seatbelts with pre-tensioner, force limiter and height adjuster, rear 3-point ELR seatbelts x 3, child seat tether anchorages x 3, childproof rear door locks, side impact protection beams, tyre pressure monitoring system, emergency flat tyre repair kit, immobiliser, security alarm, remote central locking, deadlocks, freewheeling key cylinders, visible VIN and locking wheel bolts.

Our test car a Vitara SZ5 ALLGRIP was fitted with radar brake support, emergency stop signal and Hill descent control (ALLGRIP models only).


Our test car was equipped with a DAB digital radio, satellite navigation system, 4 speakers & 2 tweeters, Bluetooth connectivity, USB socket, smartphone link display audio and steering wheel mounted audio controls.

  • Glove box not lockable
  • The front seats aren't that supportive

Although there are more dynamic competitors out there the Suzuki Vitara is an attractive, well equipped SUV that offers good fuel economy combined with genuine off-road capability at a competitive price.
