Safety
Driver and passenger airbags are standard while other passive safety features include shock absorbing rear bumpers and seatbelts with front pre-tensioners. The driver’s door arm handle incorporates the controls for all of the power windows and door locks – a good safety feature when used as a family vehicle.
ABS combines with ABD to provide safe braking. In the event of an accident, the Rexton has been engineered to absorb the impact. It has a steel safety cell with reinforced cross members, and as an added precaution, the fuel tank is securely placed within the rigid ladder frame, reducing the risk of spillage.
Options
Options include – Factory fitted side steps – Retractable load cover – Load Liner and Tow Bar.
Colour Availability
The 290E is supplied with a metallic finish in either Rex Beige or Prism Blue.
Warranty
All Rexton models come with three years or 60,000 miles warranty, whichever comes first, a three year unlimited mileage paint finish warranty and six year anti-corrosion warranty. Service intervals for the 290 diesel range are every six months or 6,000 miles. Insurance groups for these have been set at 11a.
