SsangYong Turismo (2013)

It can carry seven adults plus 875 litres of luggage – so it should be popular with taxi drivers and larger families

The seven-seat SsangYong Turismo MPV has gone on sale priced £17,995.

According to SsangYong the Turismo with a footprint of over 5,000 mm long and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm is larger than the likes of Ford’s Galaxy or the SEAT Alhambra, yet is a car rather than a van-derived ‘people carrier’ such  the Hyundai i800. It can carry seven adults plus 875 litres of luggage – so it should be popular with taxi drivers and larger families – with the seats down and two passengers it has van like proportions and can carry 3,146 litres of cargo.

SsangYong Turismo Engine

The SsangYong Turismo is powered by a 2.0 litre turbo charged e-XDi200 diesel engine which outputs 155PS at 4,000 rpm and delivers 360Nm of torque between 1,500-2,800 rpm.

There’s a choice of 6-speed manual transmission and 5-speed Mercedes-Benz T-Tronic automatic transmission.

The majority of the Turismo range is rear wheel drive, but the ‘EX’ model features selectable four wheel drive with low ratio gearing.

Depending on the model, the official combined fuel consumption is somewhere between 34.9 – 37.2 mpg with CO2 emissions between 199 – 212 g/km.

SsangYong Turismo Range

There are three models in the Turismo Range, ‘S’, ‘ES’ and the top of the range ‘EX’.

Standard equipment includes air conditioning, electrically operated & heated door mirrors, leather covered steering wheel and gear knob, and an MP3 CD & RDS radio with a USB & auxiliary port and Bluetooth connectivity. Plus Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Active Roll over Protection (ARP) and Brake Assist System (BAS).

The ‘ES’ gains leather upholstery, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats and rear parking sensors. Whilst the ‘EX’ comes with a heated lower windscreen, solar controlled glass and rain sensitive wipers.

The Turismo is available in five exterior paint finishes: Wine Black, Black, Gunmetal Grey, Silver and White.

SsangYong Turismo Warranty

The SsangYong Turismo is covered by a five-year/unlimited mileage warranty.

All the major mechanical components are covered including wheel bearings, suspension joints and bushes, steering joints, shock absorbers and the audio system.  Wearable components such as clutch discs and brake friction materials which could have their life reduced by poor driving are covered for one year or 12,000 miles, and the battery and paintwork for three years.
