SsangYong are launching the Tivoli crossover next year, to compete with the likes of the popular Nissan Juke and Suzuki SX4 S-Cross. It probably won’t be coming to the UK until later next year after its Korean launch which is set for January 2015.
We have seen the Tivoli in concept form at recent motor shows under the project name X100; it has been three years in development and will be an important model for SsangYong.
SsangYong have not provided details of the forthcoming engine line-up but the concepts featured 1.6-litre petrol and diesel units with the option of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions with two- or four-wheel-drive.
Along with the contemporary looks we are expecting the latest safety equipment and tech such as touch-screen informatics with smartphone connectivity.
Pricing should undercut the Juke’s entry price of £13,420 – so should start at around £12,500.Published 28 November 2014
