Of the thousands of people who entered a national competition to win a new SsangYong Rexton, Mr & Mrs Raymond Bayes of Ilkley, were the lucky winners.
Taking delivery of the new 270SE Auto, from KT Green of Pool in Wharfedale, Mrs Bayes - who was the actual entrant to the competition - admitted to never having won anything major before. Mr Bayes, a lifelong car enthusiast and still passionate about his driving at the age of 86, was keen to try out the T-Tronic system of the automatic transmission.
"I have mainly had manual gearboxes in the 12 cars I’ve owned in the past, and driven some autos too, but this is the best of both worlds," he declared.
Their Rexton 270SE not only features the convenience of automatic transmission, but like all Rextons comes with climate control, ABS, Traction Control and ESP stability control as standard. Push-button 4x4 operation ensures easy all-season and all-terrain capability whilst the couple thought the large luggage bay ideal for family outings with their grand children.
The couple are pictured here taking delivery of the car from Sally Green, Dealer Principal Designate, of SsangYong dealer, KT Green Pool in Wharfedale.
