It’s always been easy to park, but now it just got cheaper too!
smart city-coupé customers will save pounds when they park in central London, thanks to a unique and budget-busting deal with NCP.
Using state of the art technology, drivers of the iconic and ultra-cool, two-seater smart city-coupé and cabrio will get a discount of 25% off the standard parking rate when they use the NCP car park in Portman Square, in London’s West End. This means that drivers who park their smart for more than six hours will save £5.00.
An electronic sensor mounted on the ceiling at the car park entrance will recognise that the car is a smart. A smart parking ticket will be issued which automatically works out the discounted rate when the driver pays.
Jeremy Simpson, Head of smart in the UK, said: "This is the genuine win-win initiative, adding even more value to every smart purchased. Our customers will win, as they get a direct benefit to their purse or wallet, and NCP will win as more smart customers choose to use this car park."
Phil Robinson, NCP Commercial Director, said: "NCP want to embrace innovation and smart is at the forefront of innovative ideas for urban transportation. We’re delighted to acknowledge the real contribution that smart are making to solving some of the issues facing motorists today by running this scheme in one of our flagship car parks."
smart drivers are already entitled to special discounts when they travel on some cross channel ferry routes, and when they park at three major railway stations on South West Train routes.
The smart city-coupé range starts from £6,560, on the road. All models have a 698 cc, three cylinder engine, and standard specification across the range includes ABS, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), driver and passenger airbags, electric windows, remote central locking, rev counter, clock and RDS radio cassette.Published 20 April 2003
