Smart 2nd Generation Smart Cabrio

The iconic smart city-coupé and cabrio get 2nd generation enhancements on 1 March which put them at the top of their class, with improved performance, dynamics and refinement.

All versions of the segment-busting city-coupé range benefit from an extensive range of additional standard and optional equipment. These enhancements set an unrivalled benchmark within the city car sector in terms of drive technology, safety engineering and comfort.

The three-cylinder turbo-charged smart engine has been redesigned and gives the car even more power and torque. The cubic capacity has been increased to 698cc and new engines will be available in two power ratings: 50bhp (37kW) and 61bhp (45kW).

At the same time, the complete smart range will get the sector-first Electronic Stability Program (ESP) fitted as standard. ESP provides the cars with functions that contribute to major advances in comfort as well as safety.

New Models

The model range has been increased to give customers more choice when selecting the best smart to suit their lifestyle.

There are now two entry level city-coupé pure models. A more powerful 50bhp model replaces the previous 44bhp version. In addition, a second city-coupé pure has been introduced, which has the same 61bhp engine as the pure and passion models.

The cost of driving open-top, smart-style, has been reduced even further with the introduction of a new smart cabrio pure. At just £8,795 this will be the most cost effective convertible new car on British roads.
