The 1.9 litre turbo diesel engine has outstanding torque, with 310 Nm at only 1900 rpm. The vRS reaches a top speed of 127 mph and a 0-62 mph time of 9.6 seconds, paired with combined fuel consumption of 55.4 mpg and CO2 emissions of 138 g/km.
The design elements create a sporty yet understated look – hot and cool at once – and instantly distinguish the vRS from other Fabia models while connecting the vRS visually to the Fabia WRC.
The Fabia vRS has a deep front bumper and integrated spoiler matched by a rear spoiler on the top of the hatch. The car sits on 16" alloy wheels and the suspension has been lowered by 15mm for a sportier stance and great handling. Skoda’s vRS symbol sits proudly on the front grille, a reminder of its even quicker big sister, the Fabia WRC World Rally Car. The rear of the car carries through the sporty look of the Fabia vRS. The spoiler over the rear hatch, rear bumper with integrated rear air dam. and a newly designed stainless steel exhaust pipe combine to show that this is a special car. Inside, sports seats are covered with black fabric in the insets and light-grey bolsters with the sporty character of the car complemented leather trim.
Every Fabia vRS comes with power steering, remote central locking, stereo system with four speakers and a single CD player; driver and front passenger airbags; air conditioning and alarm; and electric front windows.
Like all Skoda models sold in the UK, the Fabia vRS will come with Skoda’s two year unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty, together with a third year retailer warranty which is valid until the vehicle has completed 60,000 miles or the end of the third year, whichever is sooner.
The Fabia vRS will go on sale in the UK in September 2003. And Skoda’s renowned value is very much in evidence with an on-the-road price of £11,990, making the Fabia vRS an exceptional combination, not only of sportiness and economy, but value as well.
In other words, the Fabia vRS is hot. And it is cool. Hot performance, cool looks, hot handling, cool price. The Skoda Fabia vRS.Published 25 August 2003
