The New Fabia vRS
Published: 25th August 2003
The Fabia vRS is that sought-after but rarely found combination of sportiness and economy – hot on the road, cool on your pocket. With its 130bhp, the Fabia vRS is quick and torquey. With its power coming from a 1.9 TDI PD engine, the sporty Fabia is also very economical.
Designed to be the sportiest Fabia this side of the WRC, the Fabia vRS is more stealth than flash. Its front air dam and rear spoiler provide clues that this is no ordinary car, without shouting "boy racer". The interior is stylish and the fun really starts when the engine fires up and the 130bhp jumps into life. Grown-up rev heads can have some fun with the Fabia vRS’s nippy handling without emptying their wallets to do so.
And it’s a Skoda, so the Fabia vRS doesn’t have to shout its motorsport pedigree. For more than one hundred years, Skoda has remained in the top ranks of motorsport competition. From the Paris-Berlin motorcycle race in the early 1900s, to LeMans in the 50s, to more than twenty class wins at the Rally of Great Britain, to today’s FIA World Rally Championship, Skoda’s been there, done that.
