Skoda Octavia vRS Estate
Rivals
- Ford Focus Estate, Peugeot 307 SW, Renault Megane Sport Tourer, Vauxhall Astra Estate, Volkswagen Golf Estate and Volvo V50
What We Liked
- Performance
- Handling
- Exterior / interior looks
- Upholstery
What We Disliked
- In our opinion the climate control switchgear is difficult to operate when driving as it is positioned too low.
What We'd Like To See
- An alarm
- Automatic drive away locking
- ESP as standard on the vRS model
- Front side airbags as standard across the range
Build Quality
The overall build quality is good and in keeping with its more expensive Audi and Volkswagen siblings. Backed up by a good warranty and VAG's (Volkswagen Audi Group) renowned reliability.
Value For Money
The Octavia vRS estate is excellent value for money offering good levels of standard equipment at a reasonable price. The badge may not be that prestigious to some but you are getting a lot of car for your money.
Overall Opinion
If you are someone who likes to spend their money wisely and doesn’t have their head turned by designer labels then the Skoda Octavia vRS estate is the car for you. It is a low cost, high performance, well equipped, practical family car. Of course the Skoda badge will be a stumbling block to some potential purchasers but Skoda has finally emerged from Audi & Volkswagen's shadow as a desirable brand in its own right.
