Skoda Octavia Estate vRS Estate
Ease of Use
The Octavia vRS estate is a very easy car to drive. Visibility is good all round and it is easy to park and manoeuvre. The dashboard is sensibly laid out and the controls are easy to operate. Little touches like the fuel flap release being located on the dashboard rather than on the floor where you have to search to find it are helpful.
In our opinion the climate control switchgear is difficult to operate when driving as it is positioned too low. The front spoiler is very low and you can easily find yourself scraping the edge of it even on the top of standard speed humps - be warned!
On a practical level the Octavia vRS estate incorporates large door bins, boot located 12V power outlet, boot storage net, cup holders, lockable lit glove box, lashing eyelets in the boot and front seat back storage pockets.
The boot is very large and offers 548 litres of luggage storage space with the rear seats upright. With the rear seat down this increases to 1,512 litres. The rear seats also fold separately with a 60/40 asymmetrical split for ease of loading bulky items whilst retaining some seating in the rear. A retractable load cover is also standard on estate versions as is an interior light in the boot.
A trip computer is standard on the vRS model and displays the time, average fuel consumption and exterior temperature.
Safety and Security
The following safety & security equipment is standard on the Skoda Octavia vRS estate: ABS (anti-lock braking system, EDL (electronic differential lock), ASR (anti-spin regulation), child safety locks on rear doors, front fog lamps, high third level brake lamp, rear fog lamp, visible VIN, central locking with remote control, deadlocks, driver and front passenger airbags, height adjustable front and rear head restraints, height adjustable front seatbelts, immobiliser, seatbelt warning light, side impact protection, third rear headrest and third 3 point rear seat belt.
Comfort and Refinement
The Octavia vRS estate's sports seats are comfortable and supportive and believe it or not are easy to get in and out of because of their hard side supports. Head room is good in the front and rear but whilst leg room is good in the front it is a bit cramped in the rear.
