Class-Leading Skoda Fabia Takes On The Swansea Rally

The Škoda Fabia Group N rally car will start the Swansea Rally on 20 July, leading the Class N1, as the team continue their quest for class honours in the Kumho National Rally Championship.

Driver Iain Freestone and co-driver Nick Kennedy are ready for the Saturday morning start. "The car is ready are so are we. The South Wales forest stages are famous for their toughness. They are the some of the stages used on the WRC Rally of Great Britain, so it should be a good challenge for us and for the Fabia," commented Iain.

The Škoda Fabia is built to Group N specifications, and is based on the showroom Fabia 1.4 16v, three-time winner of the What Car? Best Supermini award. The 1.4, 16-valve engine with 100bhp, has a top speed of 115mpg and a 0-60mph time of 11.5 seconds, while still delivering 39.8 combined mpg.
