ŠkodaAuto have opened their first flagship site incorporating the brand’s new corporate retail design. Alex Lawrie Škoda, located on Derby Road, Kirkdale, Liverpool opened for trading on 5 August 2002 with the full range of Škoda Superb, Octavia and Fabia models.
Retailer Principal James Alex Lawrie said, "Škoda offers first-class products and we are committed to offering the highest quality of service to our customers in a friendly, helpful atmosphere. We are very excited to be the first of Škoda’s new concept facilities and we see Liverpool as a key location for Škoda."
Creating 15 new jobs in the Liverpool area, Alex Lawrie Škoda is the brand’s first acquired site with a sponsored retailer. With Škoda’s full support in this new business venture, this is the first of 22 such acquisitions that will take place in strategic locations around the country.
With a total development cost of about £1.3 million, Alex Lawrie Škoda is the first of the new-look ŠkodaAuto concept facilities reflecting Škoda’s commitment to a simple, straightforward presentation of its products in a contemporary setting. The Liverpool site is the first of two such developments to be completed in 2002.
In their new facility, Alex Lawrie Škoda will provide a complete range of retail services. New car sales, vehicle servicing, replacement parts, accessories and used vehicle sales will all be available at the site.
Alex Lawrie Škoda opens at a very exciting time for the brand. With total sales through the end of August 2002 at 24,958, Škoda sales have increased 11.2 per cent compared to the prior year, against a market that has moved up only 7.3 per cent. The recently launched Superb strengthens the Škoda model line-up and is available for test-drives at Alex Lawrie Škoda, along with the rest of the Škoda range.Published 19 September 2002
