Skoda Auto's success story continues, sales results carry on growing

Published: 11th October 2007

Skoda Auto sold altogether 462,429 vehicles world-wide over the first three quarters of this year. Which compared to last year, the sales have grown by 12.6 %.

The achieved figure is the best end-of-third-quarter result in the Company's entire history.

The sales of Skoda vehicles continued growing dynamically in September 2007. Altogether 56,384 vehicles delivered to customers means that Skoda has broken another record and that September was its second best month since 1991.

The Skoda Octavia (limousine, Combi and Scout) remains the best-selling model also at the end of this quarter (169,582 vehicles in total, 12.3% growth as compared to 2006). With nearly 54.000 vehicles sold, the first-generation Octavia Tour is still very popular, too.

The Company sold 174,327 Fabias from the beginning of the year until the end of September, of which nearly a third accounts for the new Fabia Hatchback launched this year.

The Roomster is still the key driver of Skoda Auto's growth – altogether 47,183 customers has bought this variable MPV since the beginning of the year.

The sales of the Superb over the past nine months are comparable with the same period of last year.

Skoda Auto's most successful region in terms of sales since the beginning of the year is Western Europe. With 249,555 new Skoda vehicles in total, it is 9% more than over the same period of 2006.

Skoda's growth in Eastern Europe is dynamic, too (67,550 vehicles, 36.1% growth as compared to the same period of last year).

The results in Central Europe (102,796 vehicles in total) are comparable with those achieved last year, including the Company's home market, i.e., the Czech Republic.

Last but not least, the launch of the Skoda Octavia manufactured in China is another success story. Over 14,000 vehicles sold since June is a result that has surpassed the Company's expectations.
