New SEAT Toledo

Three specifications

Reference, Stylance and Sport are the three trim levels offered on Toledo. The first level, Reference, has a choice of the 1.6 102 PS petrol engine or the 1.9 105 PS diesel, both with five-speed gearboxes. Standard equipment on Reference includes six airbags (front, side, curtain), air conditioning, ABS, TCS, electro-mechanical power steering, six-speaker radio/CD, electric front windows, remote central locking with alarm and driver’s seat with height and lumbar adjustment.

The next trim level, Stylance, has the same engine choice as Reference but gains extra equipment. Two-zone climate control, audio system controls on the steering wheel, eight speakers, cruise control, trip computer, 16 inch seven-spoke alloys, rear electric windows, illuminated sun visor mirrors, height and lumbar adjustable passenger and driver seats, leather steering wheel and gear knob are just some.

Top of the range Altea Sport has the choice of the two sportiest engines, the 2.0 litre FSI petrol with 150 PS and the 2.0 litre TDI with 140 PS, both linked to a six-speed gearbox. As well as the extra performance these engines bring, Sport models also gain extra equipment over Stylance in the form of ESP and EBA (emergency brake assistance), racey five-spoke alloy wheels and sports seats.

Bluetooth and MP3

One of the outstanding innovations of the new SEAT Toledo is the option of Bluetooth which allows a standardised wireless communication between two mobile devices. The great advantage of this is that no physical connection is required between a mobile telephone and the vehicle, to provide a completely hands-free system.

The Bluetooth system is operated by means of the multifunction buttons in the steering wheel to accept and disconnect calls and access one of its most important features, voice recognition. This allows users to verbally request a call to a number or a name and save new numbers in the phone book, and all while keeping their hands firmly on the wheel. Priced at £195, the Bluetooth option is comparable in price to fitting a hands-free phone kit, is permanent, does not interfere with the interior aesthetic design of the car and has many more functions, including upgrading the CD player to read MP3.
