Four engines, three specifications and new Bluetooth technology
The new Toledo, the second model in the new generation of SEAT cars after Altea, goes on UK sale on 7 January 2005 with prices starting at £13350 for the the Toledo 1.6 Reference.
Its size, features and versatility mean the Toledo is first and foremost a family car. It has the look of a large saloon car, generous interior space, a large capacity boot with a practical rear hatch and responds perfectly to the current trends and requirements of car buyers in this class. With a length of 4458 mm and a width of 1768 mm, it offers more interior space than some longer vehicles thanks to its single-space design and its height of 1568 mm. It also boasts a luggage compartment with a 500 litre capacity.
What makes the new Toledo stand out visually is its innovative and attractive design, and in particular the rear hatch. The large front grille, expressive headlights and the dynamic line running over the front wheel arch, along the doors to the rear wheel, clearly mark it out as a SEAT.
Four engines
The Toledo is available with four engines, two petrol – 2.0 litre FSI 150 PS (110 kW) and 1.6 litre 102 PS (75 kW) - and two Diesel - 2.0 litre TDI PD 140 PS (103 kW)and 1.9 litre TDI PD 105 PS (77 kW).
The two most powerful engines - the two-litre FSI and TDI - are both coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. The 2.0 litre petrol is also available with an automatic and sequential Tiptronic 6-speed gearbox and the 2.0 litre TDI with the acclaimed DSG 6-speed gearbox.
The new Toledo also offers a high degree of active and passive safety. ABS, TCS are standard and ESP with emergency brake assistance (EBA) is standard on Sport and available as an option on all other models. The assisted electro-mechanical steering and a chassis incorporating the SEAT-developed Agile Chassis concept and multi-link rear axle, provide excellent stability and a dynamic driving experience.
The Toledo comes with six airbags as standard: driver and front passenger, front side and side curtain. It is also equipped with three-point seatbelts on all seats and pyrotechnic pre-tensioners for the front seatbelts. The front and two rear outside seatbelts also have load limiters. The two rear outer seats are equipped with the Isofix system for anchoring child seats.
