SEAT Sponsors Welsh Rugby Union And Millennium Stadium

Published: 7th November 2002
SEAT UK has entered its second year as sponsor and official car supplier to the Welsh Rugby Union with increased support for WRU’s youth programme, the Dragons Rugby Trust.

Head of Marketing for SEAT UK, Mark McKenna, said, "Our first year of WRU sponsorship was very successful and mutually beneficial. Close association with Wales’ national sport and a highly visible presence at the Millennium Stadium has done a great deal to raise the SEAT profile locally. So much so that we are increasing our support to the WRU this year by providing a fleet of Leon TDi’s to the Dragons Rugby Trust which promotes the sport at youth level throughout the whole of Wales. Something that fits well with SEAT’s own brand values of sportiness, energy and youthful appeal."

Terry Cobner, WRU Director of Rugby commented, "SEAT’s sponsorship is most welcome. We have 36 youth development officers working in the field and it is this support that enables them to get into the clubs and schools around Wales and build for the future by developing rugby at grass roots level."

The WRU’s fleet of 60 SEAT vehicles comprises Alhambras, Toledos, Leons and Inca vans used by team management, professional referees, Millennium Stadium officials and Dragons Trust youth development staff.
