2004 Model Year Updates And Pricing On SEAT Range

Published: 29th June 2003
Both the Ibiza and the most recent SEAT model, the Cordoba, have benefited from some styling changes and new options. Ibiza Sport models now have body coloured door mirrors and handles, chrome surround centre radiator grille and electric windows all round on 5-door models. New options include front and curtain airbag on all models and cruise control on 130 PS TDi variants and Sport models.

With its raunchy good looks and driver appeal, the Leon is one of SEAT’s most popular models. Performance and desirability are enhanced further this year as the highly acclaimed 130 PS 1.9 TDi Pumpe Duse engine replaces the 110 PS diesel engine in SE models. This new engine is linked to a sporty 6-speed gearbox and standard specification also includes a trip computer and white instrument dials which distinguish it from the petrol 1.8 litre 20V 125 PS SE variant. A CO2 figure of 146 g/km puts it in the lowest company car tax banding while the 52.3 mpg combined fuel consumption figure provides economy that belies this car’s impressive performance and a drive that is normally associated with more powerful petrol-engined cars.

A completely new Leon variant, the SX, is also now available, powered by either the 110 PS 1.9 TDi (£13750) or 1.6 105 PS (£12000) petrol engine. The Leon SX matches sharp pricing with high equipment levels and sporty styling. The Leon SX has sports seats with special "Mercury" upholstery, climate control, electric door mirrors, rear electric windows, 15" alloys, front fog lights, fully body coloured bumpers and traction control, and in the petrol variant, all this extra equipment comes for only £1000 over the price of the S model with the same engine.

The Leon is not the only model to benefit from the introduction of Pumpe Duse technology in the form of 130 PS TDi. The Toledo also benefits from this engine as an addition to the range, complete with 6-speed gearbox and sports suspension in SE specification for £15000 on the road.

The SEAT Alhambra, three times winner of Fleet News Best MPV, also benefits from extra specification and a new model variant, the SX. The Alhambra SX is a special six-seater version of this popular MPV, with a fridge replacing the seventh seat. It is powered by the 1.9 TDi 130 PS engine which was recently introduced on Alhambra SE models and has extra equipment over the entry level S specification models in the form of climate control, cruise control, folding tables on backs of front seats and two integrated child seats. These, along with the fridge, make it the ideal vehicle for family outings, and it is priced at £19000 on the road. To increase the specification further a new Sports Pack is available on Alhambra S and SX models for £275 comprising 16" alloy wheels and sports suspension. As with all models in the SEAT range, Alhambras now have either a single CD player or multi-changer CD as standard.

All new SEAT cars are priced on the road including 12 months road fund licence, first registration fee, 24 months unlimited mileage warranty, 3rd year/60000 mile warranty, 12 years anti-perforation warranty (6 years for Alhambra) and 5 years SEAT Assistance roadside assistance including cover in 33 countries in and bordering Europe.
