SEAT Altea Review

SEAT Altea
Unlike other front wheel drive SEATs, the Altea features a new multi-link rear suspension which is firm but comfortable. As with all vehicles with a high seating position you do get the feeling of sitting on rather than in the vehicle but you do get used to it. The speed sensitive power steering is well weighted and direct. Switchable TCS (Traction Control System) is standard across the entire range and works in conjunction with the engine management to prevent the wheels from skidding or spinning.
The Altea is a bold move for SEAT and Mark McKenna, SEAT’s UK Head of Marketing revealed that the new face of the Altea will be used for the new generation Toledo and Leon models. The design is truly beautiful there is nothing to fault. Its elegant looks attracted a lot of attention from passers by on our test route. The Altea’s nose features a bold honeycomb mesh radiator grille, bonnet and headlamp design, while the swooping side line is clearly visible from the side. Another moving work of art are the innovative windscreen wiper blades which are concealed within the windscreen’s A-pillars observing them in motion is fantastic. They will certainly stop annoying leaflets and parking tickets being left under your wipers.
The interior design is just as striking as the exterior the cabin is functional and uncluttered with chunky and tactile switchgear. The instrument dials, air vents, dashboard console and gear shift trim have modern aluminium effect surrounds.
