SEAT UK 2003 Registrations Up 17.5 Per Cent On 2002
Published: 9th January 2004
A large part of SEAT’s growth during 2003 came from increased popularity of SEAT’s two best sellers, the Ibiza and Leon. Ibiza winning What Car? Car of the Year 2003 in January created great interest in this stylish supermini, which ended the year with registrations up by over three and a half thousand units to 14,770. Accolades the Leon Cupra R has received, together with the success of the SEAT Cupra Championship, has increased Leon registrations by 1,156 units to 10,984, compared with 2002. Other model registrations for the year were, Arosa 2,579, Toledo 2,021, Alhambra 3,260 and Cordoba 679.
Kevin James, Director of SEAT UK, said: "2003 has been another fantastic year for SEAT. We had an amazing start with Ibiza being voted ‘What Car? Car of the Year’ and that reinforces the huge steps the Brand has made in the areas of innovative design and sporty engines. With the launch of Altea next year we look forward to celebrating a fifth consecutive record year in 2004."
