SEAT Leon Cupra R Review

Published: 6th March 2005

Seat Leon Cupra

Build Quality

The overall build quality is very good and in keeping with its more expensive Audi and Volkswagen siblings. Backed up by a good warranty and VAG's (Volkswagen Audi Group) renowned reliability.

The car is certainly screwed together well and the materials used are in keeping with its peers.

Value For Money

The SEAT Leon Cupra R is excellent value for money - you can drive a car powered by the same engine as the Audi TT for hatchback money. It is well equipped and offers a hugh amount of performance for the price.

The service requirement is every 20,000 miles, with an oil change every 10,000 miles. For those of you who wish to save even more money, take a look at the Leon Cupra TDi which offers a 0-62 mph time of 8.9 seconds, with a combined fuel consumption of 52.3 mpg, and low C02 emissions for the company car driver.

Overall Opinion

The Leon Cupra R is a much loved and admired car by all that meet and greet it. During our time with the car we went to a company function and everyone wanted a spin around the block in it.

We really enjoyed our time with the Leon Cupra R and although there is a new Leon on the horizon, the Cupra R has entered the history books as a classic.
