SEAT Altea

Build Quality

The SEAT Altea's build quality is excellent - in fact there is little to fault. The materials used are of a good quality and it is screwed together well.

Value For Money

At £15,150 the SEAT Altea 1.9 TDI PD Stylance is excellent value for money as it offers a high level of standard safety equipment combined with excellent levels of refinement at a very competitive price. With the introduction of new models such as the Altea and the recently launched new Toledo SEAT have lifted their profile and being part of the VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) can only improve residual values.

All Altea's petrol or diesel have the same servicing requirements. A major service is required only at 20,000 mile intervals with an oil change every 10,000 miles. Altea's covering less than 10,000 miles a year require an annual inspection service which includes an engine oil change.

Overall Opinion

WIth the Altea SEAT have created a new sector in the market which is aimed at the young style conscious family buyer but it would suit anyone looking for a practical 5-door hatchback with a high seating position who appreciates beautiful styling.

The Altea's rivals include the Audi A2, Citroen Xsara Picasso, Ford Focus C-Max, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Renault Scenic and Vauxhall Zafira but In our opinion none can match the Altea's refreshing modern styling. If you are looking for a well engineered, highly specified, spacious vehicle that is both fun to drive and easy to live with then the Altea comes highly recommended.
