Making its UK debut at the event will be the Saab Phoenix concept car, showcasing design features and technolgies which will be seen in the next generation of Saab products.
The Celtic Manor Resort will host Saab Golf Week, which will be staged on The Twenty Ten Course from Monday 30th May to Sunday 5th June 2011.
Saab Golf Week will see two traditional 18 hole tournaments and a new form of tournament golf, PowerPlay Golf.
PowerPlay Golf is a new short two-flag version game, and is being called golf's equivalent to Twenty20 Cricket. The game is played over nine hole, with two flags on every green. Golfers use a limited number of 'PowerPlays; to score extra points when aiming at the harder Black Flag, creating exciting risk-and-reward decisions on each tee. US Open Champions Graeme McDowell and Paula Creamer, Ryder Cup stars Paul casey and Ian Poulter will play alongside 8 other male and female Tour stars who will compete for the title. The event tees off at 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
Saab has also announced that it will be the new title sponsor for the Saab Wales Open, one of the leading events on The European Tour International Schedule, which will be staged at the Celtic Manor Resort. last year the event attracted 43,000 spectators, and it is hoped that this year's event is as successful.
On display during Saab Golf Week will be Saab's full product range, including the new Saab 9-5 SportWagon, which is the first time the car will be seen in the metal by UK customers. Test drives of the Saab range will be run during the week. VIP car parking and access to the Hospitality Pavilion, opposite the 18th Green, is offered to all Saab owners attending the PowerPlay Golf: Ignition tournament, simply by showing their Saab key fob on entry.
