Saab 9-3 Convertible Named UK's Most Secure Open-Top Car

The best-selling Saab 9-3 Convertible has been declared the winner for the second year running in the Convertible / Roadster category of the 2005 British Insurance Car Security Awards (BICSA), announced at 10.30 a.m on the 29th June at the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre in Thatcham.
Standard anti-theft security features for all Saab models in the UK include Category 1 alarms with tilt sensor, remote-control deadlocks with steel door lock shields, electronic immobiliser, electronic steering column or transmission lock, unique-fit audio systems wedded to each car individually, and locking wheel nuts.
Lars Evensson, Saab Automobile’s Manager for Security Complete Car says "For today’s customers, good car security is almost as important as safety. Our goals have been to arm the 9-3 with the type of safeguards that tell the potential thief… don’t bother. This repeat award from BISCA is strong evidence that our skilled security development engineers have succeeded, for which we are all very proud."
Saab GB’s Managing Director, Jonathan Nash, adds "the 9-3 Convertible’s unique combination of top level anti-theft security, and world class safety (the Saab remains the only soft-top car to receive the maximum five star EuroNCAP safety ranking) have contributed to make the 9-3 the UK’s best-selling premium cabriolet."
