Saab 9-3 Review

'Summer Breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the Jasmine in my mind' do these words sound familiar well they should do as this is the soundtrack to Saab's incredibly popular 9-3 Convertible TV advertisement which features the catchy Isley Brothers tune and a glamorous couple driving through snow capped mountains as spring reawakens.

This superbly shot advertisement tapped into the British motorists love of open top motoring and who could resist the 9-3 Convertible's combination of glamour and safety. The Saab 9-3 Convertible remains the only soft-top car to receive the maximum five star EuroNCAP safety ranking which has contributed to making the 9-3 the UK’s best-selling premium cabriolet. The Saab 9-3 Convertible is available in Linear and Vector trim levels with the high performance Aero model completing the line up. A choice of four petrol engines are available the 1.8t 150 bhp, 2.0t 175 bhp, 2.0T 210 bhp and 2.8 V6 250 bhp. Transmissions include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 5-speed Sentronic automatic with prices ranging from £24,910 to £30,589 OTR.

With tough competition in the form of the Audi A4 Convertible, BMW 3 Series Convertible, Jaguar XK Convertible, Mercedes-Benz CLK and Volvo C70 we test whether the Saab 9-3 Convertible's driving dynamics are as impressive as its class-leading safety.
