Fancy a stylish new car for summer but don’t want to break the bank? Well Renault has the answer with the launch of its new Megane and Scenic‘Rush’ special editions. With both cars widely regarded as two of the most chic and stylish designs in today’s increasingly homogenous car market, Renault dealers are bracing themselves for a deluge of enquiries, especially with prices starting at just £9,995.

The new ‘Rush’ versions will slot between the current entry-level Authentique and Expression trim levels, and be available on six models: Megane Hatch and Sport Hatch 1.4 16V 98 and 1.5 dCi 80, plus Scenic1.6 VVT 115 and 1.5 dCi 100, and be the ideal buy particularly for the budget-conscious retail buyer seeking a trendy and practical car with greater individuality but one that is still very well equipped.

As you would expect with Renault’s reputation for generously equipped cars, the new ‘Rush’ models are not stripped-out basic versions in order to offer a low price. They come with a long list of equipment, including: air conditioning, 4x15W RDS radio/single CD with 6 speakers and fingertip remote control, six airbags (eight on Sport Hatch), driver’s seat lumbar adjustment and fully adjustable front headrests.

Aside from these added extras, the cars benefit from the Megane family’s comprehensive standard specification: ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, "See me home" double optic headlights, electric front windows, immobiliser, Keyless Car with Renault Card, remote central locking and Renault Anti-Intruder Device (R.A.I.D.).

In keeping with the affordability of the ‘Rush’ versions, the new models benefit from extremely low running costs thanks to insurance group ratings of between 3E and 5E depending on engine size, and all come with a 3 year/60,000 mile warranty, standard service intervals of 18,000 miles or once every two years, and three years free Renault Roadside Assistance.

Available in a choice of four body colours: one non-metallic Pacific Blue, and three optional metallics: Platinum, Flame Red and Ottoman Blue, prices for the ‘Rush’ limited editions start at £9,995 for the three-door Sport Hatch, up to £10,495 for the five-door Hatch and £12,995 for Scenic. With order books now open, this special edition is targeting customers now shopping for their new "54" registration car in September. Customers hoping to get their hands on one of the new limited editions models had better rush down to their nearest Renault dealership…(sorry, we did wait until the last line to put that in…!)
