The New Megane Sport Saloon And Sport Tourer
Published: 23rd June 2003
Like the other members of the New Mégane family, the Sport Tourer and Sport Saloon will benefit from Renault’s expertise in terms of comfort and travelling pleasure. This is seen in innovative choices of layout, such as the flat double floor. The Sport Saloon also offers a more steeply reclined rear seat backrest (+27°), a fully enclosed boot and roller sunblinds set into the rear shelf. The fitting of new roller sunblinds in the rear doors of both versions completes the many comfort features which position them at the level of a higher segment car.
Carrying over all the innovations from top-range models, the Sport Tourer and Sport Saloon offer, according to version, technical features to improve ease of operation and peace of mind such as hands-free access and engine ignition, fuel filler flap with built-in cap, cruise control and speed limiter, plus automatic windscreen wipers and headlights.
Safety at the core of the New Mégane line-up
Benefiting from Renault’s expertise in the area of passive safety, the New Mégane Sport Tourer and Sport Saloon target best-in-class safety. Making the most of the 5-star score achieved in the Euro NCAP test in 2002 by the New Mégane Hatch, from which both models are derived, the Sport Tourer and Sport Saloon feature a strengthened structure adapted to their additional rear-end mass. This structure includes both energy-absorbing zones and programmed deformation, and therefore guarantees optimum performance during impact.
In the area of occupant protection, the vehicles are provided with a wide range of features with the third-generation Renault System for Restraint and Protection (SRP3) which sets out to offer maximum and identical protection for all occupants.
The New Renault Mégane Sport Tourer and New Mégane
Sport Saloon will go on sale in the UK in November 2003.
