New Renault Kangoo Brings Fun And Design Flair To Multi-Activity Sector | Part Two

New Renault Kangoo

A Streamlined, Expressive Design

The New Renault Kangoo’s design features smooth elliptical headlamps, rising high in the wings, a plunging bonnet highlighted by a central crease, new body-coloured bumpers on the Expression trim level plus a front grille with horizontal slats – design features that echo the new family face of all other Renault cars.

To provide better protection for the bodywork against minor impacts, a more enveloping moulding surrounds the rear doors and wide protective strips run along the sides - a design combining rugged good looks with practicality.

Externally, New Kangoo also features new alloy wheel or hub-cap designs dependant on trim level. Inside there is a new design of seat fabric, additional seat bolstering for occupants, as well as the introduction, as standard, of an overhead parcel shelf and aircraft-style lockers on the Expression trim level.

Two Trim Levels, Two Transmissions And Three Engines Offer Maximum Flexibility

The New Renault Kangoo will be available in two trim levels – Authentique and Expression – boosting standard equipment levels over the new car’s predecessor.

Every New Kangoo features the following core equipment levels of driving comfort, versatility, safety and security:

Driving comfort and versatility:

Power-assisted steering, tinted windows, twin sliding side doors with opening windows, split-folding rear seat, rubber-covered boot, three height-adjustable rear headrests plus a map pocket on the rear of the front passenger’s seat.

Safety and Security:

Driver and front passenger airbag, height-adjustable front seatbelts with pretensioners, three-point rear seatbelts for all three rear passengers, remote-control central locking, insurance-approved engine immobiliser and RAID (Renault Anti Intruder Device), which locks all doors once the car has started moving.

Authentique - The first of the two trim levels available on the New Renault Kangoo – adds 14-inch steel wheels, a 30 Watt radio-cassette with fingertip remote control and height adjustable front headrests to the above list of core features as standard.

In addition, a whole gamut of optional equipment is available on Authentique including ABS anti-lock braking, front lateral airbags, air conditioning with heat reflecting windscreen, electric panoramic fabric sunroof with fixed glass sun port, overhead parcel shelf and aircraft-style overhead lockers and front foglamps.

Expression - The second trim level features the following standard equipment: 14-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured bumpers, body-coloured electric and heated door mirrors, front fog lamps, overhead parcel shelf and aircraft-style lockers, rear parcel shelf, 60 Watt single-CD HiFi with fingertip remote control, and fully adjustable headrests.

Options for the Expression include: part-leather upholstery, 1800 opening boot doors in lieu of hatch-style door, rear roof flap with 1800 opening boot doors allowing for carrying of long loads, ABS anti-lock braking, front lateral airbags, air conditioning with heat reflecting windscreen, electric panoramic fabric sunroof with fixed glass sun port.

All three engines - 75bhp 1.2 16V and 95bhp 1.6.16V petrol and 80bhp 1.5dCi diesel - and both transmissions – five-speed manual with the 1.2 16V and the 1.5dCi and four-speed Proactive automatic with the 1.6 16V – are available on both the trim levels.
