Renault Brings Touch Of Small Screen Glamour To Cyberspace

Published: 23rd July 2004

In addition to being a valuable tool for storing multimedia material, the new site will save the company considerable time, effort and money on e-marketing by serving as the focal point for all future pre-launch commercials and ad campaign traffic, having been successfully trialled to host the first screening of the Renault Formula 1 Team’s first-ever ad campaign, "Feel It", which went live in June to coincide with the build-up to the recent British and French Grand Prix.

As has come to be expected from Renault and its groundbreaking car design and technology, the site is brimming with advanced touches, including one particularly unique feature. Although the site has been designed using Flash software, a bespoke Renault TV player has been created, which rather than requiring visitors to download additional software will automatically load any video clips on a low or high speed connection to allow material to be viewed with maximum speed and minimum fuss.

Other notable sections on the site include the ability to forward videos onto friends, view crash and road tests, sign-up to the monthly Renault e-newsletter, view the latest customer finance offers, and also arrange a test drive or model brochure delivery from the comfort of your own PC. Die-hard Renault fans can even liven up their desktop with stylish wallpapers and animated screensavers of models such as the hard-core Clio V6 and the stunning Megane Coupe-Cabriolet.

Completing the site’s multi-purpose brief, it houses several links to other key Renault sites including www.renault.co.uk and the recently re-launched Renaultsport website, www.renaultsport.co.uk. Upgraded considerably from the previous version, visitors to the site can catch up on the latest information, news, videos and images of the three current Renaultsport models: Clio 182 and V6 255, and Megane 225, as well as details of Renault UK’s considerable motorsport activities including Clio Cup and Formula Renault.
