The Renault Laguna Range

Not only the first car to score five stars in EuroNCAP’s independent crash test series making it the safest car on the road, but also voted the most stylish upper-medium model by a large section of the UK motoring Press, the Renault Laguna also continues to be the best equipped car in its class whilst also offering the widest range of engines of any competitor.
Its stylish design, both in Hatch and Sport Tourer guise, plus its advanced technology -introducing the first non-key operated locking and ignition system to this sector with the Renault Card, a tyre pressure monitoring system to alert drivers to a puncture, and of course the most advanced safety system in the class – have succeeded in making Laguna popular both with large fleets and the private customer.
Available with a choice of seven engines – 110bhp 1.6 16V, 123bhp 1.8 16V, 140bhp 2.0 16V and 210bhp 3.0 V6 petrol plus 1.9dCI 100, 1.9dCi 120, and 2.2dCi 150 – five trim levels – Authentique, Expression, Dynamique, Privilège and Initiale – four transmissions – five and six-speed manual and four and five speed Proactive automatic with manual flickshift override - and of course two body styles – Hatch and Sport Tourer – Laguna ultimately offers 53 possible versions to choose from.
The five equipment levels - Authentique, Expression, Dynamique, Privilège and Initiale - are available on Laguna but are not specific in all cases to the Hatch and Sport Tourer.
In fact, while the Hatch version of Laguna is available in all of these equipment levels, the Sport Tourer will be pitched further up the range, and hence will only be available from Expression level up.
The car with the best standard equipment list in the upper-medium sector Laguna boasts the following standard features from the entry-level Authentique model upwards:

- Three-point safety belts for three rear seat passengers- with pretensioners on the outer seats

- Renault Anti-Intruder Device (RAID) - locking all doors automatically as the car pulls away

- Power-assisted steering
- On-board trip computer
- 60 Watt Hi-Fi with single CD player and Renault’s satellite fingertip control
- Electric front windows with compression sensor and one touch on driver's side

- Reach and rake-adjustment on leather-trimmed steering wheel

Optional equipment from the entry-level Authentique includes:
ESP electronic stability programme, rear lateral airbags and
Carminat satellite navigation system.
The Expression model adds the following standard equipment:
16-inch alloy wheels, electric heated door mirrors, front
foglamps, electric rear windows, lumbar adjustment on driver’s
seat and height adjustment on passenger’s seat, velour
upholstery, body-coloured door handles, storage under front
seats.
The Dynamique model adds:
Xenon headlamps with automatic height adjustment (Sport Tourer
only), sports front seats - part leather, part fabric upholstery
on all seats, rear spoiler (Hatchback), Category 1 alarm -
dealer fit, 17-inch alloy wheels, alloy effect roof bars (Sport
Tourer only), climate control (on V6 models only).
The Privilége model adds:
Electric tilt/slide sunroof, 120W Multi CD HiFi, Xenon headlamps
with automatic height adjustment, rain sensitive wipers, vocal
warning system, parking proximity sensor (Sport Tourer only),
electrochromatic rear view mirrors, climate control, electric
folding heated door mirrors, alloy effect door handles, less
rear spoiler (Hatchback)
The top of the range Initiale model adds:
Parking proximity sensor, Carminat navigation system, electric
adjustment and memory settings for drivers seat, leather upholstery
on seats and door panels, heated front seats, cruise control
with speed limiter, heated windscreen, rear window blinds.
