All the advantages of New Scénic…and then some

Renault, the pioneer of the MPV, has applied all its expertise to Grand Scénic to develop a more spacious and modular cabin. Grand Scénic retains the adaptability of New Scénic and is equipped with two additional independent seats in a third row, individually folding into the floor. These allow the five-seat layout to be instantly converted into one with six or seven seats. The operation is easy, carried out with one hand and in a single movement without the need to remove the headrests.

Thanks to the additional 5cm of wheelbase added between the doors and the rear wheels, access to the third seat row is gained simply by tilting one of the individual side seats in the second row forward. The three separate seats allow access to the third row without all the second row occupants needing to leave the vehicle as in Zafira. The second-row seats are also mounted on slides so the amount of legroom can be varied between the second and third rows.

In its seven-seat configuration, Grand Scénic provides the largest luggage space in its class with a volume of 200 litres. In the five-seat configuration, the 120mm sliding adjustment of each second-row seat allows the available space to be increased to 550 or 605 litres. The maximum load length, with the front passenger seat backrest folded down, is 2.75m. Finally, the load volume increases to 1920 litres if the second-row seats are removed.

Features available include an electronic parking brake which frees up the interior space for an electric sliding centre unit between front seats incorporating armrests, courtesy lights, accessory power point and cupholders and a 15 litre storage bin protected by a sliding cover. This unit can slide back and forth from between the front seats so rear passengers also have access to it or increase rear legroom for a fifth passenger.
