Following a debut at the Paris Motor Show in 2010, the 1.6 litre 130bhp Energy diesel engine is now available for order. Initially, it will be available on the Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic Dynamique TomTom versions, with prices starting at £20,900 on the road.

The Energy dCi 130 means the Renault Scenic family will offer the lowest emissions and best fuel economy and performance on an MPV powered by a similar sized engine in the UK.

When compared to the 1.9 litre diesel it will replace, CO2 emissions are reduced from 149 to 115g/km. BIK rating drops from 21%to 13% and the VED band goes from F to C, so nothing to pay in the first year and £95 from then on. Combined fuel economy has increased by a quarter at 64.2mpg.

The Renault Scenic gets from 0 - 62mph in 10.3 seconds and has a 121mph top speed. It provides 320Nm of torque from 1750rpm, a 20Nm increase over the 1.9 litre diesel engine with the same power.
