RenaultSport Invites Renault Owners To The Track

Renaultsport Cars

Renault Clio Renaultsport 182

The Renault F1 Team has got off to a flying start already this season, with three consecutive wins in the bag, but as much as we’re sure that you’ve been gripped by the glitz, glamour and glory of the Team so far, do you ever get the urge to park the TV and have a go on a racing circuit yourself? If so, then Renault might just have the answer, as it invites all Renaultsport car owners to experience the thrills and spills of race circuit driving for themselves at two exclusive track days in the coming months.

More Renaultsport cars are sold in the UK than any other country in the world, so there is a strong band of enthusiasts who already know that Renault has a glowing reputation for building great hot hatches. But if you think they’re good on the road, just imagine how entertaining they are on a track, away from the rules of the road. Well, at two track days organised by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, you’ll get the chance to find out how fun each of our pocket rockets are as Renaultsport takes over Brands Hatch (Indy Circuit) on 6 May and Oulton Park (full circuit) on 13 July.

The days start at 8:30am with a full track and safety de-brief, plus the opportunity to book a session with a professional instructor and drive in any of Renault’s current three performance hot hatch stable: the corner-hugging Clio Renaultsport 182, raw V6 255 and powerful Mégane 225 Trophy.

After the briefing, each keen driver will receive half an hour’s track familiarisation time before the circuit opens officially at 10:00am with an open pit lane. After an adrenalin-fuelled three hour session and lunch, the track will reverberate to the sound and smell of burning rubber and engine revs once more at 2pm, before the day closes at 5pm for a barbecue and chance to catch up on the day’s action and find the best driver of the day.

The price for all this performance pleasure? A mere £150 including VAT. For more information and to make an online booking for any of the track day events being organised by Renaultsport, see www.renaultsport.co.uk . Places are limited at both events, so budding Alonso and Fisichellas should get off the starting line fast to avoid disappointment.

If you’re not lucky enough to have your own Renaultsport car, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun though, because provided your friend or relative can be torn away from his or her beloved Renaultsport car for long enough, additional drivers can be added for £75 each, with spectators free, but limited to one per car.

Last but by no means least, if you can’t make either of the dates above, in addition to its own track days, Renaultsport has also negotiated a special offer with MotorSport Vision, owner of Brands Hatch and Oulton Park, for their RaceMaster experience. The Gold and Silver vouchers normally cost £180 and £165, but Renaultsport owners can take advantage of an exclusive £15 discount on both for track days throughout the rest of the year.
