Following a deluge of new products in recent months, the latest model to appear in Renault showrooms from today is the latest incarnation of the Renault Megane Sport Tourer, with prices from £15,485.
Premiered earlier in the year at the Geneva motor show alongside six other new models, the stylish debutant has been priced aggressively from the outset, and in addition to its impressive value-for-money, boasts a winning combination of low-emission 'Renault eco²' engines and impressive equipment levels.
Similar to the recently launched new Renault Scenic range, several new engines and transmissions appear in the range for the first time. With four in total, they are the 1.4 TCe (Turbo Control Efficiency) 130, 2.0 CVT 140 (Continuously Variable Transmission), 2.0 dCi 160 FAP and 2.0 TCe 180.
At UK launch, the new Renault Megane Sport Tourer range includes 21 models, spread across four trim levels: Expression, Dynamique, TomTom Edition and Privilege.
Starting at £15,485 with Expression 1.6 100, key features on this entry-level version include 4x15W RDS radio CD, air conditioning, front and rear curtain airbags, ESP, folding front passenger seat, front and rear electric windows, keyless car with Renault card and longitudinal chrome roof bars.
The core model, Dynamique adds 16" alloys wheels, automatic lights and wipers, Bluetooth and MP3 connection, Hands free Renault card and leather steering wheel. As its name suggests, TomTom Edition, adds the affordable, fully-integrated Carminat TomTom, to Dynamique trim, but for an additional £360, instead of the usual £450 option price.
Completing the Renault Megane Sport Tourer launch range, Privilege provides luxurious family motoring, adding dual zone climate control, electric folding mirrors, electrochrome rear view mirror and rear armrest with storage.
An ample range of comfort and status-enhancing options are also available to tailor specific models to individual tastes. Among them, are 17" alloy wheels, automatic parking brake, electric panoramic sunroof and leather upholstery.
Just like the new Renault Clio and Scenic ranges, the load-carrying version of the new Renault Megane range also benefits from the new Carminat TomTom satellite navigation system, at £450.
Priced £15,485 to £22,785 on-the-road, with a further trim level, Extreme, to follow in the autumn.Published 21 August 2009
