The Renault Megane has been enhanced for 2012, which as with a lot of cars this year includes a new nose.

The front end has a more contemporary look which includes LED daytime running lights to provide a distinctive new lighting signature. The interiors have been upgraded which includes the option of a two-tone leather pack. Azzurro Blue and Arctic White have been added to the colour chart.

Renault has introduced Stop & Start technology to the Megane range with three new Stop & Start engines: two diesels - dCi 110, dCi 130 and a new turbocharged 1.2 litre petrol engine TCe 115. According to Renault the TCe 115hp engine is the most powerful 1.2-litre petrol engine in the world, with a combined-cycle fuel consumption of 53.3 mpg and CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.

The Visio System is available as an option and comprises of a camera fixed to the windscreen behind the rear view mirror. It can automatically switch from main- to dipped-beam headlights and offers a Lane Departure warning system which can detect involuntarily lane changes due to drowsiness or a drop in driver vigilance

The 2012 Renault Megane will go on sale in April 2012
