Over the years Renault has set the benchmark automotive safety being the only manufacturer to have seen 10 of its models achieve a maximum Euro NCAP crash-test rating.
The Renault Laguna Coupe is equipped with the one touch flat folding rear seat 'Super Fold System'. The rear seats fold flat on a 50/50 split increasing the boot space from 423 litres to a spacious 873 litres of boot space.
The main controls are well laid out and our test car was equipped with rain sensitive windscreen wipers, keyless go, 'See me home' headlights, electro chrome rear view mirror, multifunction trip computer, heated front seats, automatic parking brake, automatic dual-zone climate control and Bi-Xenon headlights with washers.
Safety and Security
Over the years Renault has set the benchmark automotive safety being the only manufacturer to have seen 10 of its models achieve a maximum Euro NCAP crash-test rating. Which is reassuring to know, especially for the family owner.
The new Renault Laguna Coupe has been awarded a five star NCAP adult occupancy protection rating by the European New Car Assessment Programme out of a possible five stars.
To guarantee an even greater protection, the Renault Laguna Coupe has been designed to ensure protection systems are triggered sooner. A three-way algorithm covers all the possible configurations to optimise performance in different impacts (complex front impact, rear or side impact). This efficient set-up is founded on a network of eight airbags positioned all around the car's occupants.
The fixed central buckle has been designed to make fastening easier. As well making access to the rear seats easier, it allows the Renault Laguna Coupe to offer the same level of protection as the Laguna Hatch. Both rear seats have seatbelts with pretensioners and ISOFIX anchorage points for child seats. Warning lights remind rear passengers to buckle up, while there is also an audible seatbelt warning for the driver and front passenger.
All Reanult Laguna Coupes are equipped with RAID (Renault Anti-Intruder Device) which automatically locks all the cars doors at vehicle speeds above 5mph. A Thatcham category 1 alarm is also provided as standard as is ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Deadlocking, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) with traction and understeer control, Headrests - anti-whiplash and rear headrests.
Comfort and Refinement
The interior cabin space and comfort is uncompromised by the sleek exterior. The suspended dashboard sweeps from door to door with no visual sign of a link to the console.
The seats were developed with input from customer satisfaction surveys helping Renault identify where occupant posture could be improved. You benefit from dual-climate control enabling the driver and front seat passenger to select their own temperature preferences. The internal mirror automatically dips to avoid being dazzled by tailing motorists; it can be switched off should you wish.
Our test car was equipped with full leather front and rear parking sensors, front electric and heated seats with memory and folding door mirrors with memory and Bluetooth connection.
