For the second consecutive year, Renault’s flagship MPV Espace has proven it is still the car to beat for fleet drivers by winning the ‘Best Large MPV’ category at the Fleet News Awards 2006.
In a glittering ceremony in London, the elite of the fleet industry’s key decision makers saw Espace beat stiff competition from all MPVs on the market including the short-listed Chrysler Grand Voyager and Mitsubishi Grandis, showing it’s still the MPV of choice for fleet drivers.
Espace was awarded the coveted ‘Best Large MPV’ award by the judging panel which included Fleet News Editor, Martyn Moore, who said; "The Espace continues to lead its class."
"Its style and equipment level make it a desirable premium product. The range of engines, spaciousness and five-star Euro NCAP rating make it a practical and safe choice. Well done Renault. The Espace is a worthy winner of our award."
The strict criteria laid out by the judges decreed that the ‘Best Large MPV’ should have a combination of essential elements such as strong residual values, ample space and cost effectiveness. For the second year running Espace could not be matched, offering luxurious comfort and the added reassurance of five-star Euro NCAP safety that make it an excellent family vehicle too.
Keith Hawes, Director, Fleet & Commercial Vehicle Sales, Renault UK, who collected the award at the ceremony from newsreader Huw Edwards, commented; “For the second year running, Espace has taken the glory in one of the most competitive categories within the fleet market, proving it is the ultimate in luxury MPVs at an affordable price.
“The face-lifted New Espace 2006 has just gone on sale and I am sure its modern and stylish new look will once again prove a hit with fleet drivers especially as duty of care is becoming such a hot issue in the industry. With Espace, user choosers can be assured they are travelling in comfort and safety whether on or off duty with their families too. I am thrilled to accept this award from Fleet News”.Published 17 March 2006
