Proton Rewards Top Dealer Technicians

Four regional finalists in a nationwide competition to find the best Proton dealer technician in the UK have been rewarded with a day out at the Lotus Handling Experience at Silverstone.

As official supplier of track cars to Octagon Motorsports at Silverstone and Brands Hatch, Proton Cars (UK) Ltd has made extensive use of the racing school throughout the year to incentivise dealers and promote its unique Lotus-inspired product platforms.

Danny Stilwell of Bellevue Motors in Southend, Darren Smyth of Exeter Motors, Peter Arries of Lion Garage in Northumberland and Tommy Docherty of Arnold Clark in Glasgow emerged as regional winners after scoring highest marks in a technical theory questionnaire.

After exploring the limits of adhesion in a Proton Satria GTi and Lotus Elise, each was treated to a ‘hot’ lap by race school instructors at Silverstone to complete a memorable experience.

Further tests and the prospect of a VIP trip to Malaysia now await them in the search for the Proton National Technician of the Year.
