Proton Cars (UK) Ltd Accredited As Motability Dealer
Published: 21st January 2005
More New Year good news as Proton Cars (UK) Ltd (PCUKL) becomes accredited to sell cars under the Motability Scheme. This scheme is open to more than 1.6 million disabled people in the UK who qualify for the Higher Rate Mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance from the Government. Hundreds of thousands of people choose to have their allowances paid to the Motability Scheme to meet the cost of owning a car through contract hire or hire purchase arrangements.
PCUKL has previously been an accredited member of the Scheme and is proud to announce that the strong future residual values of the new Proton GEN-2 have enabled its vehicles and dealerships to rejoin the Scheme. Simon Park, Proton’s General Manager of Sales and Marketing, said: "The Motability Scheme is a valuable market for the new GEN-2 and the two new Proton models to be launched in 2005."
Through the Motability Scheme, PCUKL will provide customers with a brand new vehicle every three years, covering the costs of insurance, loss and damage protection, maintenance and breakdown cover - giving customers low-cost worry-free motoring. A Motability Operations spokesman said: "We are pleased to offer the GEN-2 and other Proton vehicles through the Scheme. Proton brings the number of manufacturers supplying the scheme to 25 and helps us to achieve our objective of offering the full range of cars available in the UK to our customers."
Quite apart from the benefits offered to customers on the Motability Scheme, the Proton GEN-2 adds a host of unique benefits to drivers, including air conditioning, twin airbags, with side airbags standard on the GSX, reverse distance sensors, remote central locking with multi-function alarm and engine immobiliser, height and tilt adjustable driver’s seat with driver foot rest, spacious boot with 60:40 split folding rear seats, plenty of storage space within the cabin and an integrated Blaupunkt radio/CD player. All GEN-2 models have benefited from Lotus involvement which has added a touch of unique style and performance.
