The Peugeot 607
Published: 21st September 2003
Since its launch, the 607 has featured the latest safety equipment to protect passengers in the event of impact, with:
- front airbags with a capacity of 60 and 90 litres, combined with pre-tensioning seatbelts with a low-calibration force limiter (450 daN)
- side airbags with a capacity of 11 litres to protect the chests of the front passengers
- "curtain" airbags with a capacity of 23 litres to protect the heads of occupants at the front and rear, which deploy in the event of side or three-quarter frontal impact
These devices are now supplemented by rear side airbags that are activated in conjunction with the "curtain" airbags.
Without changing the functionality of the seat backs or the vehicle’s
rear capacity, they protect the chests of occupants even more effectively.
With a capacity of 11 litres and housed in the sides of the rear
seats, their presence is revealed only by a vertical seam optimised
by special threads with different strengths and an "airbag"
logo visible from outside the car.
The "Bluetooth®" hands-free kit
This innovative offer represents a genuine advance in car phone technology.
The principle of the "Bluetooth®" innovation resides in the recognition and automatic connection of a "Bluetooth®" mobile phone and the vehicle itself. This new standard allows mobile phone functions to be transferred to the vehicle by radio waves.
