The new Peugeot 407 – successor to the much-loved 406 – is set to return Peugeot to dominance within the upper-medium segment of the new car market. The 407 saloon launched at the Birmingham Motor Show is a dynamic driver’s-car with a strong emphasis on quality. The new 407 SW further broadens the appeal of the range by offering a stylish, dynamic and versatile vehicle at ease with modern lifestyles.

The 407 SW: exterior style and personality

The 407 SW successfully combines the purposeful, stylish appearance of the saloon with the versatility of an estate car. Items such as the standard fit panoramic glass roof - a Peugeot innovation first seen on the 307 SW - further add to the unique character of the SW.

Its overall length has been increased to 4,763 mm, with the rear overhang extended by 87 mm compared to the 407 saloon, allowing easier access to the boot. Structural changes to the rear of the vehicle provide a very low-level loading sill, a low tailgate position and an innovative design for the rear quarter panels all giving easy access to the load area. Its overall height is 1,486 mm, an increase of 41 mm, due to a new roof design with longitudinal luggage rails.
