Another Concept Success For Peugeot Is On The Cards

The two cars are identical in terms of styling, but one, the black-painted RC Spades, has the 2.0-litre petrol engine that features in the 206 GTi 180, while the other, the red RC Diamonds, has a 2.2-litre diesel engine.
“Part of the rationale for creating these concepts was to see what can be done with diesel engines in sporting cars,” explained Robin Gadsby from the Peugeot stand staff. “And I think we've proved the viability of diesel in this arena, as both cars have almost identical performance figures. People who've driven the cars also tell us the diesel is the quieter of the two.”
Gadsby added that press and public reaction to the 143mph stunners has been “phenomenal” and, admitting that he's a huge fan himself, “hopefully they will go into full production. There's a gap for this sort of model in our range.”
Peugeot has so far been tight-lipped about its exact plans
for the concepts, but a recent review in Auto Express indicated
that if they did go into full production they could have a
price tag in the region of £20,000.
