HDi Powers Peugeot Sales Growth

In the UK, for October:
- Sales of over 15,000 new cars put Peugeot in third place in the UK manufacturers’ league table, with a market share of 8.3%
- The Peugeot 206 was the number one car in the retail sales chart, with over 5%of all sales to non-fleet customers. Overall the 206 was the third best-selling car, with a 28% growth in sales compared to October 2001
- The diesel market continued its growth, and Peugeot led the other manufacturers again, taking 12.4% of all diesel sales. The 307 (5th) and the 206 (6th) represented Peugeot in the diesel top ten
In the UK, for 2002 year-to-date:
- With sales growth of 3.4% and total volume of over 186,000 new cars, Peugeot is clearly the number three manufacturer in the UK new car sales league after Ford and Vauxhall, taking 8.3% market share
- With over 91,000 units sold this year, the 206 remains the number three best-seller overall in the UK, and it is still the number one car for private buyers, topping the retail sales chart
- Sales of diesels have increased by 40% in 2002, and Peugeot
is still the number one in diesel sales, taking 13.1% of
the market. Three Peugeots are in the top ten: 307 (3rd),
206 (7th) and 406 (9th)
