Peugeot 407 SW
What We Liked
- The engine/gearbox
- Performance
- Equipment Level, including the telematics
- Styling
What We Disliked
- We could not find the ideal driving position
- The plastic central console
What We'd Like To See
- Wouldn’t it be great if you could access/answer emails/internet via the Telematics system
- Better quality plastics
Build Quality
Overall no problems at all, the materials are up to the job and everything seemed well screwed together. Although the telematics system did seem a little temperamental at one point switching itself off and wouldn’t come back come on for nearly a day - we can only assume it had over heated?
Value For Money
All Peugeot 407's receive a 3 year / 60,000 mile warranty (which ever is soonest). All cars except the HDi 110 can be serviced every 2 years or 20,000 miles, again which ever is soonest - the HDi 110 every 2 years or 12,000 miles.
The 407 SW is very well equipped and is keenly priced, especially considering the standard equipment and refinements.
Overall Opinion
The Peugeot 407 SW is a very likeable car with a very high standard specification. As we have said before the 407 certainly surprised us but then Peugeot have a reputation for making the ordinary - extraordinary.
The 407 SW with the 2.2 HDi engine is rather good, offering excellent performance and road handling. It is very capable of swallowing up reasonable loads and carrying them with enthusiasm - making it both the ideal business car and family transporter.
Overall we were very impressed, more so than with our first drive of a petrol saloon back in 2004, there is no doubt that the Peugeot 407 SW is still up there with its peers.
