Peugeot 307 Review

The Peugeot 307 CC was launched in the UK in October 2003 - offering both a four seat Coupe and a Cabriolet at the touch of a button. Although an integral part of the 307 family the 307 CC is a model in its own right.

Contrary to popular belief, Peugeot invented the concept of a powered retractable hardtop back in the 1930's with the production of the Peugeot 401 Eclipse.

The Peugeot 307 CC is available with a choice of three petrol engines a 1.6 16v, 2.0 16v 138 bhp and 2.0 16v 180 bhp. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard throughout the 307 CC range but the 2.0 16v 138 bhp model is available with a 4-speed Auto Adaptive Automatic with Tiptronic System Porsche (also including sport and winter settings, plus shift lock).

Prices range from £16,995 for the entry level 1.6 16v to £20,945 for the range topping 2.0 16v 180 Sport.

With competition in the form of the MINI Cooper Convertible, Renault Megane Coupe-Cabriolet, Saab 9-3 Convertible, Vauxhall Astra Convertible and Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet we tested the 307 CC 2.0 16v 180 Sport to find out if Peugeot's offering can hold its own within the competitive world of 4-seat coupe cabriolets/convertibles.
