Nissan's Predictably Reliable

Nissan X-TRAIL

The Nissan Almera Tino is the most reliable MPV and the X-TRAIL is the most reliable 4x4 in the UK, according to the latest reliability survey from the Consumers’ Association as reported in this month’s issue of Which? magazine.

Only seven cars achieved a perfect 100% score with two Nissan models claiming their places as Britain’s most reliable cars – the Almera Tino and the award winning X-TRAIL. The Sunderland-built Almera and Primera models (both the new and previous models) also feature in the top half of the table with above average* scores. These scores mean that in the overall reliability ratings table, Nissan moves up one class to join the group of most reliable cars since last year.

According to the Consumers’ Association, "Japanese brands dominate the top of the table with few models suffering from reliability problems. These brands all have excellent overall reliability in our survey – even for the cheaper models in the range."

The survey ranks car makes for overall reliability as well as the breakdown rates for each particular model up to two years old. Cars with no breakdowns or starting problems during the previous 12 months score 100%.

The X-TRAIL has recently been voted Best 4x4 Recreational Vehicle 2003 by Auto Express magazine.

*Average score for reliability is 94%
